Aaron Sorkin should go back to playwrighting...

...not because his work in television is fleeting, but because I'd love to see what he could come up with in a work written for the stage. I was just reading this in a biography of his:

"Aaron Sorkin grew up in Scarsdale, a suburb of New York City where he was very involved in his high school drama and theater club. After graduating from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater, Sorkin intended to pursue a career in acting. It took him only a short time to realize that his true love, and his true talent, lay in writing. His first play, "Removing All Doubt", was not an immediate success, but his second play, "Hidden in This Picture" debuted in 1988 at the West Bank Cafe Downstairs Theater Bar...In 1989, he received the prestigious Outer Critics Circle award as Outstanding American Playwright for the stage version of "A Few Good Men" which was later nominated for a Golden Globe...he spent the next year and a half writing a Broadway play, which later led to the movie."

Anyone know where I can find the scripts mentioned here? Online or elsewhere?

Well, as a matter of fact, he is.

His new play "The Farnsworth Invention" is being produced as the page to stage show this Spring at the La Jolla Playhouse. It's basically a fully produced run, that is workshopped. No reviews are allowed. It's a great script. I had the chance to read on early version. I look forward to seeing the final product.

Yeah I actually did a monologue from "Hidden In This Picture," which I found at a library. I really enjoyed it, as I do just about everything he's written. Anyway, I found that play in a public library, so I am pretty sure his scripts are available.
