No. Back row balcony is $20, you can buy it in advance. For rush, have a valid student ID, blah blah blah, two tickets per ID, $26 each - subject to availability. So, you can end up with amazing seats, especially if you're alone or willing to split up from your cohort. They start selling them at 5... box office said there haven't been lines or anything.
Ahh, I had the two types mixed up. Hmmm I wonder if I should rush Chitty tonight... Yep, threadjack city. Albin, do you think he is likely, I thought he was funny but I have heard no buzz about him at all?
Hehe, yeah I have to convince my companion to get up that early, or stay out all night! hehe. We'll their around 7 I suspect, or 730. Where exactly do you stand EM?
You'll see people (and someone directing the herd) in Shubert Alley. As the crowd gets bigger, you'll get redirected to the block adjacent to the theatre.
Cool thanks Em. I have mega bad eyesight so I hope I can see okay. I bought the Spamalot Cast Recording and need to see Sara Ramirez in person! But I could get a kidney quicker than a Spamalot ticket for 5 days from now.
And I am, forever, going to call it the "wall thingy".
yaaaay, it sticks!! You can see pretty well. It's a "wall thingy" because it's sort of a wall, but not. It's in front of you... more like a.... partition!
You can see Sara really well, all the ticks and exagerated movements are excellent from the back of the theatre (and my eyesite is not the greatest either) the "wall thingy" is a must if standing I'd assume.
Why did I mistakenly think it was gonna be broadcast live on TV? ::pouts:: Oh well, I assume the webcast takes place at tonys.org? Maybe I'll get up at 8:15, 8:20ish, to watch. Then I'll probably go back to sleep for more hours.
Oh and Em, while I agree ASU certainly deserves a nomination for orchestrations, I firmly believe that Piazza will and deserves to win, the orchestrations were such an unnoticed yet very important part, and simply fantastic.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
