That is not what he was saying...that is not what he wrote on the page...that is now what his argument is or was. However, many many many people who write on this board and seem to always be looking for drama have made it such. Yes there are some idiotic comments on the facebook page, but NO he was not in any way saying that actors who do film or tv work are not welcome on Broadway or at the Tonys. His desire was to bring the Tony telecast back to something that he hoped would celebrate Broadway and the people who devote their careers to it. To make the telecast one that would touch and inspire kids who love the stage and may not be able to see a Broadway show.
It is sad to me that so many feel the need to take what I think is a desire to improve this telecast and make it into a bitchy and selfish plea for self gratitude. HF, like him or not, seems to love the theatre and want it to thrive.....how many of you guys who come here to post your negativity can honestly say the same? Seems to me these message boards are full of the Riedel-type theatre fan, and not the HF type.
