This may come across as a stupid question, but ill ask anyway. Do the actors usually come out of the front door after the show or do they exit out of a little DOOR in the back of a theatre so crazed fans *cough cough* don't chase them?

It really said US Navy, but hey, I worked with what they gave me ok.

Well, gee, do you wanna know so you can meet them, yet not be a crazed fan? re: Actors at the stage door?

Kidding.

Anyway, generally most actors exit out the stage door, yes. You might get a more accurate answer if you had a specific show in mind, though. Unless you don't want to appear as a crazy fan. re: Actors at the stage door?

Most of the people at Rent do come out of the front, but sometimes they sneak out from a different door, and sometimes they just pull their hats down really low and make a mad dash to get away from the theater.

So ok...do they usually meet the fans and sign autographs or just like...yea..."pull their hats down low and make a mad dah"

I'm just wondering if its worth it to stand outside after the show or just leave

I think the general consensus is that the current Rent cast is pretty friendly, so it's probably worthwhile.

Actors at most shows are willing to stay and sign for fans. Obviously, it depends on the actor and the show but it is a pretty common practice and most are used to it.

well by traditional standard there isn't a real stage door for rent... but if you go past the box office (past on the left when you walk in) at the end of the hallway there a door, then you go through it, and theres an alley with marker all over the walls, then theres the actaul entrance to the theatre for actors.... but unless i missed something as far as actually leaving the theatre from a non-audience door there isn't one

Can, can I have it?

Also the Majestic. The one time I was there I got to go backstage to meet Mr. McGillin (who is very, very nice) and had I not come out the stage door I would never have found it. Don't they share with another theater?

Fame Becomes Me is at the Jacobs, A Chorus Line is at the Schoenfeld (formerly the Plymouth), which has its own stage door. There are three theaters whose individual stage doors are all behind one big metal door, and the Golden is definitely one of them. I think the Jacobs may be one as well, but I'm pretty sure the third is not the Booth -- it's on the other side of the block, down by Shubert Alley. The third may be the Majestic. My mental map might be all wrong, though.

The Schoenfeld (formerly Plymouth) has its own stage door on the street, but the Golden, Majestic, and Booth's stage doors are down that yucky alley with the garbage dumpsters.

Circle in the Square does not have a stage door as well. Actors usually come out the front.

Though I think there is technically a stage door there, actors usually just go out the lobby and the front at the American Airlines theatre.

Do any of you know if there is a stage door to the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London?

Based on what people have said about stage door experiences I would say that there is, but since I have never been to London I really don't know!

Try the West End board?

There is technically a stage door at the American Airlines, but I think it's generally used if there's a high-profile star in the show. It's on 43rd street, but from what I've heard, your best bet there is the lobby. There's basically a second stage door that leads into a long hallway that goes right into the lobby.

And yay, MTVMANN. He's a sweetheart. re: Actors at the stage door?

I guess the cast of '12 Angry Men' don't have to worry about walking out the front door. Unless there's still some 'Johnboy Walton' fans out there(like myself). But than again, I'm not the ' running after, screaming kind' to get Richard Thomas's autograph.

The stage door of the St. James is marked "Stage Door" and it under the marquee. It's connected to the theatre and is only a door down from one of the many doors you can enter the theatre with.
