Why might it be? Because it is being performed as a charitable event to benefit the fund.
I would be interested in knowing if anyone has a certain answer.

You really think they'd call off the strike at one theatre just because there's a charity performance? Or else that stagehands would go back to work for that one performance? Or barring that the actors would cross the picket line? When all they'd need to do is simply postpone the Actor's Fund Performance until some date later after the strike is over? C'mon..........
