Not sure which this belongs on, but if I'm wrong, just switch it.
Her life sounds as wonderful and rich as her voice.
She sings the only version of "If I Were a Bell" that I like (well, I actually LOVE the way she sings it), and it is my favorite song in the show.
RIP, Miss Bigley. Hopefully when you see Frank Loesser up there in the big house, he won't slap you this time!
So sad... my heart just ached a little.
When I was a kid, the "Guys & Dolls" cast album was one of my first exposures to the real glamour of Broadway. I played it non-stop in my room as a child. I acted out all the numbers. I dreamed, I pretended... and I got hooked, forever.
And Miss Bigley was a great part of this magic introduction to the joys of cast recordings, and the infinite possibilities of the "theatre of the mind."
In a way, she was the leading lady of my "Drowsy Chaperone."
You will be missed... and you will be remembered.
best12 that was a beautiful post!
Thanks, Marquise!
This is a "bump" for a lady who deserves a little more love and attention.
