Was anyone there? I went but only heard him sing, I couldn't stick around for the signing. He sounded amazing!

Emcee was there's, but she's off right now. She showed me all her pics, I don't know what I think about his hair.

Yeah, munku, I'm so not studying. That didn't go over so well... I suddenly lack the ability to retain anything I see.

So (copy/paste from the Adam thread OT) - TGIF and I got there at like a quarter of five - we totally WERE the line for a while. Some people from Sh-k-Boom told us just to hang out and wait for something that looked remotely offical. They're VERY cool people. Adam showed up around 5:30 and did some sound checking. I swear to God he was singing Maybe This Time from Cabaret, but he was very mumbly and I think he made up some words. He took off for a while, but first thanked us all for showing up and said he was going to get coffee. I'd say the crowd was somewhere between 50 and 70 people, or thereabouts. It was nice and intimate. He was so cute, he said he's always petrified that people aren't going to show up to this sort of thing. He sang Beautiful Song, Book of Endings and I'm With You - he played acoustic guitar and had one guy singing backup and also playing acoustic with him. He introduced the songs and wondered out loud whether or not people would have any idea, since the record was just released... and I just thought "okay buddy. Just who do you think you're talking to?" Performances were wonderous, of course. I love the little things he changes (octave jumps and such) when he peforms live. Clothing - all black again, though slightly mismatched and those silly red shoes. Tres sexy, though. Afterwards he was like "okay, so, go buy the album. Buy one. Buy two... buy THREE! Christmas is coming up." I got several good laughs from my friends, being that I did in fact buy a third copy tonight... not for myself, don't worry. I wanted to be like "yes, Adam. As you wish." Signing was awesome - we got toward the end of the line, so by the time we got to him things were very quiet. He was sitting at a table that was up on the stage, so he was basically at eye level. The table was a pain the arse for picture taking, but it was nice - you could sort of lean on it and have a really casual conversation with him... you know, if you aren't horribly shy. I didn't totally geek out like I usually do, but when I got really close I started to get my usual "oh my gosh I can't do this" butterflies, but they faded fast as soon as I got right up to him. The one thing that I saw in him tonight that I've never seen before is how nervous even he gets - he's very confident, but you can see a sweet sort of nervousness and appreciation underneath, much as we poke fun at his Diva-ness. TGIF and I went to him together, she first. We both told him how much we loved the CD - I hesitated and then said "I've had my copy at home for a couple of weeks. It's incredible." He was really sweet, and thanked us. He signed hers personalized to a friend, and then I gave him mine. Adam: "who's this one for?" Me: "Oh, it's for my brother. Don't worry about it." Adam: "oh, he doesn't have a name?" Me: "Nah, it's okay. He doesn't need one." We congratulated him on the RENT film, though saying we knew nothing was quite official yet. He thanked us, and said that it's as good as done. He seems excited. I loved that it was quiet and not chaotic by the time I got up there - it was really intimate and sweet.

Etheb's encounter was particularly adorable, but she said I could post it. She told him how she saw AIDA four years ago, and that it was her first B'way musical, and that she loved it. He said he hoped she liked it, and she answered she didn't really remember much, since she was 14 at the time. Adam: "Were you drunk?" I love his drunk jokes. No, wait. I love him.

Took lots of pictures. Send me a PM with your e-mail or AIM screen name if you want to see.

Oh, yes... and... *points to signature*

Thanks for your awesome account for how your trip went with Adam. I could imagine myself there with you... well, not really.. considering I don't really know you. But thanks.
I loved him in Aida... and I was so happy that I got to see him after the show. I can't even imagine how you felt.

You're so lucky! ~Kangaroo

awwww, thanks! That's sweet. Yeah... it's always fun to see him - and I'm glad he's kept up performing even after Aida. *refrains from bursting into tears*

Adam's hair....
Without sounding too fan-girlie, it looks a lot better in real life than on pictures. He has a bit of a Bon Jovi thing going on at the moment. Works for me re: Adam Pascal at Tower

Emcee, thanks for re-living the evening. I had a great time and it was lovely seeing Adam again. Love seeing him perform his new stuff.

re: Adam Pascal at Tower
Sometimes being a "detail whore" comes in handy.
And let's talk about how much I love his hair. The pictures don't do it justice. I hated over the summer when it was in that weird in-between stage and it was like "Adam. Please cut your hair." But now: ahhhhhhhh! It looks so good. Yay.

No idea on the numbers, kandikane... the CD was technically only released a week ago, but I've had mine for almost a month. *shrug*

Thanks Emcee for that review! You are right, we WERE the line for awhile. I had such a nice time.

Can I just say how surreal it was to hear one of Adams songs come on over the speakers throughout the store? It was great. (This was about 30 minutes prior to it starting). I ripped Emcees headphones out of her ears to listen! (sorry about that! i got excited).

hahaha! Yeah, it is really unnerving to hear that stuff up there - since you NEVER, ever do. But yay for him! And yes, I had AIDA on my headphones, and TGIF proceeds to almost pull off my ear and was like "listen! Adam!"
