Wilson Morales over at blackfilm.com interviewed both Adam Pascal and Rosario Dawson.
Wilson asked Adam during the interview:
Do you miss Daphne?
Adam responded:
Of course. Daphne was a huge integral part of the original production and it was unfortunate that she couldn't be a part of the film. That's not the way the stars lined up. This is the way they lined up.

Yeah, like what else what he going to say?
Was he going to say "I didn't miss her. I don't care whether she was in the movie or not as long; I am in the movie that's what counts to me". LOL.
I wish I could find it, but somewhere else he's quoted as saying that he was really excited when Rosario got the part. But... Daphne is his friend. He's not going to be like "no. I don't care if she's not here!"
They left out the part when he said "Daphne Who?" and had to call his agent. Rosario did an awesome job, and, keeping Daphne, at her age now, the film would have lost it's integrity and realism.

It's a joke.
No need to coming riding in on your white horse as you always do to defend the goodness of all that is Adam. LOL.
The interviewer's is pointless. No one in their right mind is going to say anything remotely un-PC. They're all going to say that "it is too bad but Fredi and Daphne couldn't be in the move but that the movie is great and that Rosario and Tracie are both great". It is the same blather that passes for an interview on ET, Extra, Access Hollywood, The Insider.
....
White horse? Please. If he does something stupid, I'll say it. I'm not deluded enough to think he doesn't screw up or always "goodness." That said, he's allowed to miss someone who's a close friend.
I got your joke; I was just saying I wish I could find the interview where he elaborated on being really excited for Rosario. That's all. Adding information. I definitely knew you were making a joke. I'm sorry if it came off like I was being snarky with you, because that's not what I intended -- I intended it to read as though I was *agreeing with* you -- but going after my defense for him really is a bit silly.
That question reminds me of questions that some overly agressive life insurance salespeople are trained to ask like..
"You care about your kids, right?"
"No, I hate them."

like everyone else has previously said, that is the kind of reaction you would expect.
"Did you enjoy making the film?"
"No. It was the worst experience of my life."
Really funny, every post in this thread. You all should have followed the interviews for Titanic. Kate Winslet (amongst others) was really honest about the filmmaking experience.
"Did you enjoy working with James Cameron?"
"I'll never work with him again."
"How long did it take you to film this scene?"
"Cameron had us sitting around Baja for six weeks doing nothing and then only made us film for ten minutes."
Some people just don't do bull.

Evelyn, i'm prety sure you're kidding, but I just wanted to make sure? LOL I never heard Kate say anything like that ::shrug::
But Adam is honest to a fault. He doesn't do bs.
No, I'm not kidding at all. She said that in the spring of '98, I believe. Then she retracted it when people started accusing her of being ungrateful for the experience (though, by then, it was well known that Cameron wasn't the most actor-friendly director).
hah, I love her. I do, though, still hold to my beliefs about the honesty of these actors. Not all honesty equates to negativity.
