Posted: 5/30/05 at 2:14pmAs I said on the other thread, I believe STEEL MAGNOLIAS will post a closing notice the day after the Tonys and close Sunday, June 12.

It is? Man... I'm behind the times here...
Sorry about that.
Then maybe "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?", if it doesn't win.

I dont know why Steel Magnolias would set their closing date around the Tonys since they were not nominated for any Tonys (however I could see it closing very soon). I think this show might be trying to hold out to see if it can get summer tourist crowds.
As far as Tony related closings, I would bank on "On Golden Pond" and "Virginia Woolf" to be the most likely. Virginia Woolf's figures have slumped significantly in the past few weeks and On Golden Pond is yet to really find a big audience -- both of them could really use Tonys to help them and perhaps are waiting around to see what happens. The running costs for both of these shows arent too bad however as they have small technical demands and small casts/crews, so they are more likely to stay open longer than say Little Women or Brooklyn, the most recent victims.

Sweet Charity?
I'd like them to keep this show open and when Christina is finished get another star who is amazing.
