I have never seen Aida nor heard the score. Last night I stopped at teh library and saw that they had the Aida CD. I took it so that I could finally hear this show and see f I like it.
This morning I opened it and looked at the song list. The songs are performed by various recording artists such as Tina Turner, james Taylor and Sting. What the hell is this? It is obviously not the cast recording. I can't really tell because when you borrow a cd from the library, they ofetn do not give you the booklet tht comes in te cd. You get a photocopyy of the front cover and the song list
LOL! Yeah - that's actually a 'dreadful' cd. If I'm not mistaken, Heather Headley is the only cast member on it - she's singing 'Elaborate Lives' if I'm not mistaken.
Anyway, what you have is just a bunch of interpretations of the original cast recordings. Check back with the library - hopefully they also have the OBC recording.
Good Luck!!

Ya, that's the concept album. I believe they put that out before the show. The OBCR is 100 times better! The OBCR looks like above.
You're right about Heather doing Elaborate Lives. the rest of the cd is awful.
I'll have to go back and get the obc which they do have because I remeber seeing the cover pictured above. Don't even know why I'm bothering. In all the time since Aida has been on Bway, I've never had much of an interest in it.
Orion, can I just say your Icon scares the crap out of me!?! pleasechange it =*(

I really just thought of something mean to say. This is not how I feel, I just want to say it: Mimi Chica, yours really scares me!
Oh come on Princess, isn't it a nice alternative to the happy, red cheeked, jelly belly Santa?
Don't worry too much about it, I get bored with my icons so frequently, this one may be replaced soon.
Wait, hold up! Kelly Price killed "The Gods Love Nubia." Her version was just as good as Heather's
Sherie Rene Scott's in it too! I know she sings the surreal version of "A Step Too Far" with Heather and Elton.
