I am directing H2$ and we must use what is in the script (and I really do prefer the revival's version of Brotherhood )

What about the act of cutting songs (or dance numbers) from certain shows. I know there are many musicals that a high school pit orchestra just cannot play (such as extended dance sequence in My Fair Lady's "Get Me To The Church On Time".)

I'm as jumpy as a virgin at a prison rodeo!

Wow, that's all a news flash.

For Godspell, they took the songs that weren't really all that important ((ie. Learn your Lessons well Reprise)) and gave them to the younger actors ((Ie. Me)) I don't know if that's legal, but this is all interesting.

Especially when our director is planning to change Mr. Mushnik for Mrs. Mushnik next year in LSOH. heh...

Also, for our rolls at our school.
We all audition with whatever we want. I usually use a modern Broadway musical because me and this one other girl are the only ones to ever audition with musical songs...

Then we get chosen for call backs. Then he gives you a song from the character he wants you to audition for. I got called back and was told to learn "Bless the Lord". But I didn't get it due to seniority...

damn seniority...

This is the reason that MTI gives out OrchEXTRA and Rehearscore (which are both WELL worth the price).

Hi you guys, just an update-
we are NOT doing Aida.

My director was stupid and told a lot of people that we were. I'm very mad that he did that. So, auditions were supposed to be Wednesday, but we only heard what show we're REALLY doing today- Godspell. Ok, so i would be ok with that if it weren't for the fact that we just did it 3 YEARS AGO. which means that this years seniors did it their freshman year. Ok THAT pisses me off. i just know that theyre going to complain if it isnt blocked/sung EXACTLY like they remembered. ARGH. this is a total mess. So everyone including me was preparing a song for AIDA and now he changed it. Sorry for all the angst, but im REALLY angry right now. GRRRR

Hey again, we had Godspell auditions and im Peggy! Im really excited now that ive heard the music and all the teenage angst has died down. So YAY now!
