I just booked another show...Ain't Misbehavin'. This will be my 3rd show in a row at this new theatre. I am loving it! I am only going to be a lighting tech/board op again, but I am working my way up. I hope to design my first show there next season.

How is this show? I have not heard much about it. Isn't it more of a revue? Should I have fun working on it?

AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' is a "catalogue" show built around the musical numbers of Thomas "Fats" Waller--a jazz composer with a VERY outgoing personality.

The wonderful score includes such jazz classics as the title song, "It Ain't Nobody's Business If I Do," "Honeysuckle Rose," and "The Joint is Jumping."

The show is presented as a revue. (The original production had a cast of five--including Nell Carter and Charlaine Woddard.)

It can be staged very simply--as the whole entertainment is built around the marvelous songs and the performers who sing them.

The original production was a smash hit and lasted for nearly four years on Broadway.

The original Broadway Cast Album is a Double CD issued by RCA.

The production was taped for a TV Special in 1982 but I do not believe it is available on VHS or DVD,

Mary_Ethel, you are correct, that show is not available on VHS or DVD. I've been trying to get a copy of it since it aired on Showtime.

It also won the Tony for Best Musical and Nell Carter won a Tony for it as well.

I was fortunate enough to see the revival of this show in the late 80s. Had a front row seat purchased from TKTS no less. It was an excellent show with an amazing cast.

It's a GREAT show and you could probably get the OBC used on amazon.com for pretty cheap. Nel Carter is awesome and I love her!

You know, I just knew you were gonna bring shame on this new family of ours, and it just figures you had to go make yourself over into some heroin-shootin skate board chic on the only day E! could interview you!" - Cherry Cherry, on her daughter Mary Cherry

When I was in school, my friends and I used to Second Act that show and later one of those friends got to play Charlaine's role in the touring company.

By the way Nell Carter died on January 23, 2003.

I saw a regional production in September in Providence. I did not like this show at all. I was bored to death, to be completely honest. The music was fun, and the performers were great, but I do not like revues, unfortunately
