Just to give Alan Cumming fans a heads up. The man himself will be appearing on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet next Tuesday, July 10 to promote the critically praised Sweet Land (which recently received the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature at the Hamptons International Film Festival). We would like our audience to be as lively and energetic as possible, so we want our studio audience to be filled with Alan's most devoted followers, from those who love his diverse film work to his stunning achievements on Broadway. Is this for the DVD? I saw this several months ago. Charming movie, beautifully filmed, and Cumming is great in a role very different from what you expect.

I saw Sweet Land when it was screened at the Stony Brook Film Festival last July- it was a wonderful, completely absorbing piece about an immigrant mail-order bride's experience as a stuggling midwest farmer's wife in a not-so welcoming community. Alan Cumming, in a supporting role, played a quirky (no surprise there!) friend of this couple- he was a husband and father with lots of children. The movie's cinematography was gorgeous, and the story both charming and believable. I highly recommend it- I didn't know it was available on DVD.
