Alex Newell and Joe Iconis - New York Musical Festival 2019

The show sounds interesting. The song has that contemporary musical theater song thing where it just kind of floats along and then gets higher and louder at the end. You get very disconnected from the lyrics because there's no alteration in meter, tempo, melody, etc. in the verses based on what the character is saying.

Lots of identity issues covered in the shows this season. The shows seem better than last season but I'm not sure I want to commit to $300 and spend July running around again. Then again, the readings aren't that compelling so I might just buy individual tickets.
