Alice?

Anyone know what Alice Ripley is up to?

re: Alice?

Allegedly she had a bunch of auditions recently, but she got sick.

She's playing at Birdland with RIPLEY on November 22nd, though.

re: Alice?

It appears as though she is going to be performing in D.C. Dec 28-Jan. 2nd. She'll be in the Music of Andrew Lloyd Weber. D.C. really seems to love her! Perhaps I should move there!! I heard her at Broadway Unplugged a few weeks ago! WE NEED HER BACK ON BROADWAY!

RE: her having auditions

Gavin mentioned it at the concert he was supposed to do with her on the 29th. She wasn't there because she got laryngitis and needed to get better ASAP.

re: Alice?

I guess I am going to have to go to the Webber event then.

re: Alice?

How terribly disappointing. I thought this was a thread about the 1970's sitcom starring Linda Lavin and Polly Holliday.

re: Alice?

You can catch Ripley down at the Red Lion at least once a month. Check her website for performance dates... they're usually posted. I believe the next one is Nov. 30th? Not positive.

She played there last night... they'll be at Birdland, too, as her infamous stalker everso kindly posted. :)

I know Alice had an audition for Dessa Rose the week she was ill... I'm not sure she actually made it to the audition because her voice COMPLETELY gave out on her by that point. Sadness.

Stalker? Birland?

Not that I know to WHOM ms. hilton is referring, but.....

RIPLEY will be at Birdland on Monday, November 22nd. I believe showtime is 7. Tickets are $20 plus a two-drink minimum.

You know....so I've heard. Who IS that stalker??

www.birdlandjazz.com should have anything else you may want to know, e.g. a telephone number [(212) 581-3080] or anything like that.

re: Alice?

Alice does "Sunday"?????

Wow, talk about a casting idea I had never thought about, but which is ABSOLUTELY perfect.

I'd LOVE to see Alice come back to Broadway in a revival of Sunday! SOMEBODY get on that!

re: Alice?

She could be one damn good Galinda in Wicked!! At least she's got the voice for it.

re: Alice?

I'm really pissed that her gig last night wasn't listed on her website. I was milling around my dorm w/ nothing to do. ARG!
But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

re: Alice?

I'm pissed it wasn't on there too! TOTALLY WOULD HAVE WENT!

ALSO, I think Alice could play MANY sondheim roles. DOT IS PERFECT! In another 10 or 20 years... think MRS. LOVITT!

She could also do Fosca now!

I would actually love to see her as Elphaba... just to hear her belt those notes! Although it's been a while since I've heard her high soprano notes... so Glinda is nice too! haha I THINK ALICE IS INVINSIBLE AND CAN DO ANYTIHNG!
