I have noticed latley that people want to see all about Ruprecht at the tonys. Don't get me wrong, I love DRS, but... well let me put it like this. To me there is a line between clever and just vulgar and uncalled for. For instance Avenue Q has a lot of inappropriate parts in it, but it is very clever. In Ruprecht Norbert grabbing himself and being sexual frankly just made me uncomfertable and was to me not funny at all.

I don't think it would work for the telecast, but I found it extrememly funny and I usually don not like that kind of humor. Part of it is that its a character who is supposed to be disgusting to scare away Joleene (sp) All the over the top antics seemed perfect.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

Although I don't think they'll do this number, it did not offend me although it would be great for Ruprecht to interact with Hugh..also........did you see the movie? Steve Martin asks to go to the bathroom and then proceeds to go relieve himself.

The show is called "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", people!

All About Ruprecht was the scene that made me laugh the most. Both my mother and I had tears streaming down our faces we were laughing so hard. Some people just have different senses of humor. Lighten up.

I don't think this would be a good choice for the Tonys. Maybe some sort of medley, I don't know.

It was actually one of my favorite parts...Norbert is F-ing halarious!

But it wouldn't work on the Tony's ...i say "Great Big Stuff", or "Dirty Rotten Number"...or if you want Sherie "Here I Am"

But I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see "Love is my legs" my favorite!

and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...

Me too, Stephanie! Love is My Legs wouldn't really work for the Tony's, but it's my favorite too. I think they should do Great Big Stuff.

I love Ruprecht, but I don't think it's what they want to put on TV. I think they'll do Great Big Stuff, and just censor a few of the lyrics.

"Some people just have different senses of humor. Lighten up."

C'mon, you said it yourself...some people just have different senses of humor. There is no right or wrong here - the sort of humor in "All About Ruprecht" is just not everyone's cup of tea. There's nothing wrong with that reaction, just as there's nothing wrong with enjoying it (as it happened, I thought it was hysterical, and I'm usually not a huge fan of vulgar humor). The original poster was just asking for opinions, not condemning anyone who might disagree. The "lighten up" was uncalled for.

THey'll probably do a number that could appeal to all types of audiences, so I'm guessing Dirty Rotten Number or Great Big Stuff..or possibly even the medley..However, I do hope that they showcase both Lithgow and Butz for they're both up for nominations! It would be a pity just to do GBS!

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

Dirty Rotten Number is a bit of a spoiler, though. They probably won't do it.

They always do Dirty Rotten Number, just as Wicked always did Defy Gravity.

All I can say, All About Ruprecht and DRN show off Norbert and John...AAR is a little crude for TV (though I loved it)...so...

And Norbert's character is THAT type of person, truck-driving, ball-grabbing, gimp-impersonating, the list could go on, person...
