Saw it today & my wife & I absolutely loved it. The fact that it was totally shut out of Tony nods shows how out of touch the nominators are. The audience had a ball.
Going in a different direction but shades of the Biltmore box office fiasco of months back. Went to but tickets to Paris Letter @ the Laura Pels. We got there @ 15 minutes before curtain. Because we were buying for a future date, we were told to come back in 15 minutes as they were only selling for that performance. Really great PR. My wife wanted to see it but after this said screw them if they wanted to be that petty
Pettiness continued. Was in Virgin in Times Square. In the cafe, the girl in front of me was buying a drink. She asked the guy behind the register for a cup for her drink. He said, as god is my witness, he would have to charge extra for the cup. Can you spell cheap boys & girls ? People wonder why some people are turned off by theater & NY as this reflects on the city in some way. I would have given the drink back & told him to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. Is Virgin doing that badly they have to charge extra for a cup for a beverage you just bought from them?

Posted: 5/15/05 at 8:29pmActually, most people charge for extra cups. It's not like the guy behind the counter decided to do it for a little extra cash. In this day and age, things are expensive. Dunkin' Donuts does the same thing and it's perfectly acceptable. It's only a few cents!! And I can GUARANTEE no one is going to refuse to come back to NYC or Broadway because they had to pay 10 cents extra for a cup of coffee :-P
