If you miss the softer beginning of the show and disagree with the author's change of putting Jailhouse Rock as the opening moment , then about 2000 people vehemently disagreed. The curtain went up to the silhouetted image of "jailhouse" and the entire audience went BALLISTIC...BEFORE the number even started! Rock and Roll in your face...the number was bookended by a Concert like ovation. This isn't the Broadway production,(which was wonderful) it's the tour, where the original creative staff got to change/fix what they wanted to.
