What's the latest news on this show? I have heard nary a peep anywhere.
Several doomsayer friends of mine doubt it will even open at all - I hope they are wrong because (despite the fact that everyone was dissapointed by the score and story) I want to see Richard Kind's performance, which I've been told is amazingly awesome, in addition to being cool, nifty and like-TOTALLY-far-out, man. :)
I want to see Michelle Pawk too, but she (surprisingly) barely rated a mention with most critics.

eeehhh.. haven't seen it, but I know peopel who have. The show won't come to Broadway and play for anything unless they do some major reworking. I would like to have Gavin Creel back on a NewYork stage. He is such a gifted performer.

You haven't heard anything because it hasn't re-opened at the Kennedy Center yet. The cast is still in rehearsals
I'll be seeing it October 25

Yup, CJR, you are right. But has anyone heard of any re-casting for the D.C. production? When does it open?

No recasting as far as I know.... at least I know Michele hasn't been recast and that's important because she's the only reason I'm seeing the show! Not sure on the exact opening date either.

Michelle is really great in this show. I was hoping they would replace Jane Powell.

Hal Prince said in the Washington Post that he is getting three and a half weeks of rehearsal for the DC production. So I guess they go back into rehearsal next week. Sondheim said in the same interview that they were rewriting a major scene in the first act, compressing parts of both acts and writing a new ending. The cast of principals listed in the ads and on the Kennedy Center website is the same as the Chicago cast.
I am sooo glad they changed the poster art. The one for the Godman production was awful. The new one is very clever. I tried to link it, but was unable. But you can see it at the Kennedy Center web site.

There ya go Suleen...
I love the new poster! The legs sticking out at the top just made me laugh out loud!
I was one of the few people that actually liked the old BOUNCE logo, even though it was very busy. But the new one is far and away superior! Very crisp, clean and funny. It may be the best show logo of the year (WICKED runs a close second).
