Reports coming out of the all-South-Asian Spring Awakening are strong, and it strikes me as a much better fit for a reconceived production than most revivals get. The show is fundamentally about a generation being kept ignorant by adults who think silence is protection - moving that frame onto a specific diaspora community isn't a gimmick, it's the most natural relocation of that material I've heard proposed.
Has anyone actually seen it? Most of what I've read is enthusiasm rather than description.
