Altar Boyz Coming to Off-Broadway in 2005

From Variety:

"Altar Boyz," about a Christian boy band whose songs include "Girl, You Make Me Want to Wait," will get an $800,000 Off Broadway production in early 2005, according to producers Robin Goodman and Ken Davenport. Goodman says the sold-out eight-perf run at the fest helped lure investors."

I suppose I'll get a chance to see this after all. I've been predicting big things for Andy Karl since his fantastic performance in the highly entertaining, Romeo and Bernadette. Now, time will tell.

If you go to Cheyenne Jackson (is that his name?)'s website you can listen to an audio download of him singing "Girl, You Make me want to wait" (I think that's the name of the song.)

re: Altar Boyz Coming to Off-Broadway in 2005

This is fantastic news! I'll be interested to see what, if any, kinds of changes they make production wise or if they add more of a "story" element to the show, than the just the concert element. Either way, can't wait to see it again.

Thanks Mattio, I believe Porter has been working on this for a very long time, so it's good to hear, he caught a break. Good news on this thread, all around. Even I have nothing even slightly negative to say re: Altar Boyz Coming to Off-Broadway in 2005
