Posted: 2/15/05 at 2:04pmI'm ushering it tonight! Make sure u say hi. Contrary to what I've posted before, I won't be the head usher outside the house but will be inside at 1 of the aisles. I gave up the head usher spot so I could reduce my hours and take an internship elsewhere. I can't wait to see this show!

I'm a full-time house staff member, though I am cutting back to part-time status any week now. The ushers there are rotated through the different shows, so I've been assigned to every show there starting with The Immigrant (I've seen MODERN ORTHODOX over 40 times now) The only people who don't rotate are the Head Ushers who stand outside each house the whole time for late seating and such. I was set to be the Head for ALTAR BOYZ but ultimately decided I'd rather make a few dollars less and get to be inside watching the show and have the flexibility to rotate, rather than commit to the same thing 8 times a week.
So, to actually answer your question, I'm there pretty regularly and will probably be at Dodger 4-5 shows a week, mostly on BOYZ or MUSICAL OF MUSICALS, or sometimes taking tickets. They know I'm a musical guy so will usually keep me with my people. I can't say how long I'll be there in terms of the production's run. A job's a job, and I guess that depends on how it sells!

I"m sorry, can you explain the details of the $20 rush tickets? Are there a lot available during the week?
I couldn't find any info on their website...so PM me or reply back, I'd love to see this show.

Posted: 2/15/05 at 5:40pmAn hour before hand, the rush tix become $20.... which is usually basically whatever tix are left... just go straight to the box office. I think playbill.com write something about it.

Posted: 2/16/05 at 10:11amhow are the crowds for this show? Shoudl i do rush sooner (this week) or next week?

Posted: 2/16/05 at 10:55amunless the production people released extra holds, I don't believe there were any tix sold for rush at last night's show. it may have changed but every seat was accounted for by the box office when I got there. in reality there were a handful of seats left empty by no-shows, but that's unavoidable. so to answer your question based on 1 preview: pretty big crowds. it's possible you'll be able to get ahold of some rush, but it's unpredictbale. I'd say to aim for a matinee or midweek. or join TDF.

LOOOOOOOOOOOVED the show last night. I wont say too much about it, but it was too funny! There wasn't any point in the show where you got bored (though, they COULD have added an intermission, im sure it would have at least help sell some merchandise...). Being a first preview, the only major problem was Matthew (The "lead" or the group)'s mic. He had to leave the stage for almost an entire song to get a new mic, which still didnt work 100%. Oh well. Preview. As a show itself, there were little to no problems at all. I will say that the new Matthew (Who replaced Cheyenne) if anyone, is the weak link. Although he is great on his own, choreographically he was always a beat ahead or behind. Also, the way we (the audience) seemed to react to the humor of the show... Matt (The gay character) definately stands out the most, overshadowing the "lead" and the rest of the group.
Ive seen almost all of the shows this season (Probably 90%) and this is definately one of the best. The choreography is hands-down perfect for the show, and better then anything else running these days. The music is great, and tons of fun.
The show seemed sold out, so im not sure what kind of rush seats there will be, and i've never seen a croud react so positively. I dont think it will be too long until this becomes a hard ticket to get, so get there ASAP.

Tyler plays Mark, and completely shines! I loved him!
Does anyone know what role Tyler played in the reading of Good Vibrations at Vassar? I'm assuming one of the five harmony guys, particularly the Chad Kimball or Jeff Martin one.
