Thanks for posting this. I bought the actually CD a few years ago and I don't know where it is now. This is going straight to my iPod. You might want to put "/cast recording" in the title to not make people crazy.

The movie does have a soundtrack.
If it's a movie I call it a soundtrack, if it's the live show I call it a cast recording. Changed it anyway...
It is a soundtrack.
But thanks for posting! I never wound up buying it.
I was reading the fine print and it may only be free till the end of this hour. So 10:00 pm for you East coasters? I guess we'll see what happens in a few minutes.
got mine! thanks for the heads up!

Regardless, thanks for posting it.
You're very welcome. Yay for free stuff!
How STRANGE that it is free! Wonder how this came to be and why? Not that I am complaining...
I was wondering the same thing, but certainly not complaining! The kids I babysit for love the movie, I'm sure I'll get lots of brownie points when I show up with the CD tomorrow!

Where can we see more free stuff from amazon?
Here's the explanation if you haven't seen it yet
"Amazon Bestsellers lists are updated hourly. Between list updates, the price of an item may change from being free to having a price and vice versa. Although the item's price changes immediately, the list and its rankings stay the same until the next hourly update."
Still don't really get it either, but whatever, it's free.
On the page with the MP3 download, there is a link to receive weekly updates on specials, new releases, and other free downloads.
There are other free MP3 albums available if you browse through the line of CDs "other users who bought this album" bought (none which look appealing). Also if you randomly browse the MP3 albums some free ones pop up, but you need to do a little bit of searching.
This is the first time I've seen a more popular album for free. Usually the free stuff is new artist and other people I've never heard of. There's occasionally good discounts. For example they have a collection of cast recordings on sale for $4.99 in honor of the Tonys.

It's 10:15 and I was able to download the music to my sister's laptop.
If it's a movie I call it a soundtrack, if it's the live show I call it a cast recording.
This is exactly right!
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Aw darn, it's $7.99 now
