the true about the real amda los angeles campus.
the education that amda gives you as an actor is not enough! at the very begining of my training i thought ohh this is gonna be an amazing school and yada yada. but, after only a week i found out what really this school is about. it's about money and not about art! if you're an actor that really loves this proffesion let me give you an advice and apicture of amda L.A. . you walk around the school with a feeling that you're still in high school. everybody talks **** about the teachers and about the program which you spend most of your day on and does'nt get so much. maybe you have a few teachers that are really into the acting but that's it. i think the biggest problem is how the administration runs the school. they give you the feeling that you're in prison. they dont even show up for the showcase of their students. i think that where there is no soul, there is no art. last week eight people from my class left the school. in one week eight people left including me. they were the best students. now i really say what i have to say. i'm not trying to talk **** about them but that's the reality. if you wanna go to amda you'll find people that came there because they have dad's money and they wanna have fun in L.A. . people do drugs all day, come to class when they're drunk and not willing to work. now, you can always be the smart one and work hard but i wouldnt say that you should do it at amda. you better schools around you that do give you alot and you spend less money. these school like lee strasberg, ivana chubbuck(doesnt get people without a manager) the actors studio dont care about the money cause you're not there for the money!! you're there because you wanna be the best actor and you wanna work. these schools can get you some very good tools.
a week after i left amda and i'm very happy and feel that i can breath!!!
Have a good week and think about it. there's alot of people that dont wanna say things but i chose to say.

Yes, so uhhhh... where are you from, Matt? You have a "charming" accent.
By the way, I have heard the same thing from numerous AMDA students - both NY and LA. The place is often referred to as SCAMDA.

not to be too rude but clearly you need more than acting studies...writing and spelling could do you some good too.
i went to amda in new york and let me tell you no matter what school you go to people are going to talk about the staff, people are going to do drugs, people are going to come to class drunk, people are not going to want to work and there are always kids with dad's money who "just want to have fun"....it's the same at every other school....so before you go shouting off about the bad time you had...you should have thought first.
amda is truly what you make it. if you didn't enjoy it so be it...
i have worked ever since graduating the program.
i would have loved to go to addler or aada but i went to amda and feel as though the skills i learned there are great...not the best ...but you can't expect to learn EVERYTHING at one place...shop around.
good luck with life and hopefully you will find a program that works for you.

no offense to you but after i got accepted to AMDA i backed out soooooooooooo fast when i saw the 90% of talentless people that get "trained" there.
They turn out the chorus for every tour musical. Every now and then they have luck.

"the 90% of talentless people that get "trained" there"
what does that have to do with you? im confused. i mean ive heard a lot of bad things about this school but it seems like it's coming from people who are worried about the alumni and not them selves. just an observation.
I mean I went to performing arts high school and there were all types of levels there in one class. there will always be better actors and worse ones. there were people from my school who went to juilliard and people who went to amda. it all depends on who you are and how you can handle yourself in an acting school enviornment. and you can transfer if you dont like it! it's not that serious!
