Amelie or Anastasia?

A friend of mine is coming in town from out of the country. This will be her first musical. I've seen a few clips of the cast from Amelie performing on youtube and my interest is definitely piqued. I've seen a lot of Broadway shows and Amelie seem a little different and interesting (although the full song clip posted in the Amelie thread on here sounded more like the vocals were drowned out by too much music). I'm leaning towards Anastasia because it seems like a more traditional Broadway love story and it's my friend's first show. I'm sure I'll enjoy either. What do you think?

Haven't seen Anastasia yet, but I did see Amelie and felt very middle of the road. It's an okay show with a not very memorable score until the final 20 minutes.

I'd say go with Anastasia, I've heard many good things about it.

I am a massive Phillipa Soo fan, but Anastasia is shaping up to be pretty great. Pains me to say but I'd probably pick the latter.

Thanks for your responses! I'm going with Anastasia. Are either of you familiar with Broadhurst Theater? I'm looking at orchestra Row P which are 160 each. I think that's under the mezzanine overhang right? Probably going to plunk down another $100 for 2 tix to move up a few rows.
