I went to a show tonight and it said it was part of the American Equity Association. Is that the same thing as Equity? Also, it said that one of the actresses was Off-Off-Broadway. Uhh, what is that?

What is Broadway? A street? Some say it's a street. Some say it is the best street in the world. Others think its terrible. That's the beauty of it, it's terribly beautiful. Some hate it and don't know why. Others love it and don't know why. That's what makes it so wonderful, it's a mystery.

"Equity" is Actors Equity Association. I have never heard of the "American Equity Association."

"Off-Off Broadway" refers to a play produced in New York City in a very small theatre - usually under 150 seats. It can be Equity or Non-Equity.

It sounds like the person who did the programs was whack. :)
