I saw this when I was little kid w/mom and dad, but don't remember hardly anything about it, I found the playbill today while cleaning the closet. Have any of you ever heard the score to this, or have seen it? Wow, what a cast and crew. I wonder if the new Hal Prince show might reveal any interesting flop stories, such as this?

Posted: 5/31/12 at 12:37amWasn't Prince a late addition to the team (I know he was to Baker Street sometime later). The score is sweet, though I haven't listened to it too much--I always find it interesting that both Goldman bros worked on it, and prince says it did help create his relation****h John Kander which is a good thing. I hope his show DOES have some time for the flops--he's certainly has had his share of pretty major ones particularly in the '80s, not to mention things that probably won't be covered like the 7 performmance Ted Knight late '70s comedy Some Of My Best Friends (in which apparently he could talk to plants and animals--no connection to the early 70s gay bar film of the same name with Rue McLanahan, which would have been more interesting).

Posted: 5/31/12 at 1:43amI believe Prince replaced Word Baker. I have a very soft spot for this show - the maybe one and only production outside of Broadway was at a tiny theater in LA on Santa Monica Blvd. very soon after the B'way version closed. It starred John Gabriel, Suzy Kaye, and Terry Becker and was an utter delight.

"I always find it interesting that both Goldman bros worked on it, "
They had written a comedy, Blood, Sweat, and Stanley Poole, presented on Broadway earlier that very season.

Funny that I'm reading this thread about Kander's only non-Ebb show till now the day before I see his second non-Ebb show.
I rather like the score to A FAMILY AFFAIR. Supposedly, Kander begged Prince to take over the direction out of town, so he obliged.
