I came across a recent (well, not too recent, but fairly recent) radio interview with Andrew Lloyd Webber. It's pretty interesting. It includes an example of one of his most well known songs and the classical work that it was almost directly lifted from. It is a half hour long and very interesting. I hope my link works.

I have been trying to remember all day what he said. I can not remember. He even played it for me when we got home and the similarity was striking. It sounded far too familiar to The Greatest Star of All.
