Your claws are all showing. He's no doubt doing it because he is a businessman as well as a composer and producer, and maybe his company can take advantage of the popularity of interacive games.
I'm not so sure it would be a bad thing to have gamers singing along with some show tunes instead of just stuff like "Bark at the Moon" by Ozy Osbourne and "Caveman Rejoice" by The Bags.

I'd rather see some B'Way songs incorporated into games like Rock Band (as downloadable content, so the Ozzy and Metallica fans don't get their panties in a twist...aw hell, they would anyway).
I guarantee you we'll never hear about this again, except for a thread every couple months asking what happened to it.

You can have a whole level based on his various court hearings/legal proceedings, the various divorces, the battle with Equity to bring Sarah Brightman over for Phantom, defending yourself against the Puccini estate, and of course LuPone.
