I saw Kelsey Grammar's MACBETH. I was sitting up close, too. I don't remember any teleprompters. I DO remember a dreadful production.

Everything on stage is an illusion anyway, what does it matter if a few other things go on behind the scenes to help the performance along? As long as it isn't obvious to the audience, which clearly it wasn't, all it does is help the show run smoothly.
