Have to agree with several of the previous posters:
Merman: definitive
Lansbury: better acted, but betrayed by it's Brit roots
Daly: tough-as nails, a refreshing alternative
Midler: goos, workmanlike, nothing to be ashamed of
Peters: Embarassingly miscast, like Betty Boop as Rose
LuPone: Haven't seen or heard it yet, sounds likea good pairing of star and role
