I know this play as multiple parts...can anyone tell me how they did this in new york? Did they run the plays together in one evening or were they ran in seperate venues or did one come out one year and the next part the following year as a sequel or what? How was that done?
And also wasn't there an HBO movie made based on the play? I never saw anything about it...what happened with it? Did anyone see it...was it good? Thanks!
I was actually an extra in the movie, which hasn't come out yet. I believe it airs in December.

The production was presented as two separate plays. I saw them both on one day: matinee and evening.
So they did part one in the matinee and part two in the evening or they were run as seperate productions?
The first part, Millenium Approaches, opened first and played for about a year, before the second part, Perestroika, opened and began to play in rep with Millenium Approaches in the same theatre, the Walter Kerr, with the same cast. The Walter Kerr has a small backstage, and teching essentially two shows in one theatre was a nightmare, but they pulled it off, somehow. The two parts would alternate during the week, and both halves would be performed on two show days, so that you could conceivably see the whole thing on one day.

Angels In America is one of my favorite plays.
I predict it will sweep the Emmys next year. The cast, director and of course the script are all outstanding. I am so excited to see this. And you are correct,ShBrtAlly, it is airing in December.
By the way, I believe the film is 6 hours and will be aired both in one hour installments or in two three hour installments. But I am telling you, you will not be able to wait for the second part.

It is the best play ever to grace the Broadway Stage. This is the most brillant work.
I am so thrilled with HBO for having the guts to do it.
I hope it is smashing!
