Hmm...interesting...

Wonder if they'll try to re-book? Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas could house it, we did get the first nationals of Beauty and the Beast AND Sunset Boulevard.

Just going by what I read in the article it does sound like it is a complex show. I do hope that because of that they do have some sort of out of town try out before going to Broadway. I am sure they will it is just now a question of where.

Honestly the only time I had heard of it was when I was asking Grove what she was working on next at the stage door of one of the final performances of Sunday. That is the only reason why I know what this show is. If it wasn't for that then I am sure I would have been in the dark too.

scheduled for Aug. 29-Sept. 13 at The Strand Theatre in Shreveport, LA

Ive never heard of a try-out in Louisiana?!

Angels is, however, still aiming for a Broadway bow at a theatre to be announced during the 2008-2009 season.

This season? This is the first time Ive heard of this too!

I only heard of this because Cuccioli was involved!

And yeah jaystarr, I've never heard of a try-out in Louisana either...in Srreveport none-the-less...but maybe they hoped it'd be like A Tale of Two Cities and no matter what is on stage before them, they LOVE it because they've never seen anything premiering before!

It was announced about two weeks ago (July 9) that this was Broadway-bound... that was the same day that the Passing Strange people announced the filming schedule for the movie version, so perhaps this story got buried.

And if there was ever a show to debut in the deep south, this was it. It looks fairly complex (video at www.angelsthemusical.com) but also fairly cheesy... and fairly preachy.

We'll see.

They've actually been eyeing Broadway for a while now. Not for a mere two weeks. If anyone would care to visit the website for the show, you'll find some "interesting" clips, to say the least.....
