Isn't she on tour with Caroline, or Change?
She was cast in the Encores! production of Purlie, I think. That's in the Spring.

yup, exactly. she's out west with tonya and co. and then she's doing purlie with perhaps blair underwood as purlie.

I heard she turned down the role of Dorothy in the announced The Wiz revival.

Don't know if there is any truth to that.

i think tamyra gray could hold her own in the wiz revival personally. her acting work in boston public and her stamina and voice both in idol and bombay dreams show that she can handle being on broadway.

Anika was just conformed as Lutiebelle for the Encores production of PURLIE. She is wrapping up the CAROLINE tour.

I'm really sad that when I saw "Caroline, or Change" she wasn't there. I got the u/s, who was awful. I saw the show a week before it closed, and my friend had seen it and said that Anika Noni Rose was great. Sadly, I don't know what she can do. I have the cast recording, which is fine, but I have a feeling that seeing her live would have either added or taken away. So, I guess I'll never know

Anika was the only good one in 'From Justin To Kelly'.

Another person who would be AMAZING as Dorothy..Heather Headley. Wow, I'd pay to see that a ton of times, she's fantastic.

Or LaToya London from American Idol, though I don't know how her acting is, she's got the chops.

True...maybe for the "Dreamgirls" film. Hopefully they'll come to their senses and NOT cast Beyonce.
