Did anyone see this onstage with Polly Bergen & Mark Hamill? Looks like a great cast.

I actually saw the pre-broadway run at the Coconut Grove Playhouse with Mark Hamill and Rue Mclanahan when I was about 15. How my parents didn't know that I was gay when I was more excited to meet Blanche Deveraux than Luke Skywalker, I'll never know.

Julian Sands? Wow, this could really go either way.

I love Julian Sands. I'm curious if anyone saw Uta Hagen in this part, and what they think about Gena Rowlands vs Polly or Uta? Gena seems perfect for the part to me.

I saw what I think was the Premier production of this play -- at the Geffen in LA with Uta Hagen and David Hyde Pierce. It was amazing. I then saw the production at Coconut Grove --did not like Mark Hamill and the whole idea of the woman NOT knowing he was gayer than a three dollar bill just didn't make sense, but Rue McClanahan was great (but no Uta Hagen). I passed on the Broadway version.

So I take it the movie will have friends and perhaps group dance classes?

Ms. Rowlands has always been one of our best film actresses, and the idea that she's going to be in anything in which she'll be featured is reason enough to throw some hats in the air. "Faces", "Woman Under the Influence", "Gloria", "Opening Night", "Hope Floats", "Unhook the Stars", "Hysterical Blindness" amazing work on so much episodic.
This flimsy little piece is gonna be blessed with her around... As well as the others who've signed on.
