Just got back from seeing Mad Hot Ballroom...the movie about the 5th graders in NYC who have a class in ballroom dancing that eventually ends in a city wide competition. At the final level, they are judged by professional dancers, and Ann Reinking was one of the judges!
Anyone else see this movie? What did you think? I absolutely enjoyed it, but then again, I'm an elementary music teacher who makes her 5th graders do ballet before they go see The Nutcracker...LOL!
I've never heard of the film but I'm going to put it on my "must see" list.
That's the cutest avatar I've seen on here.
Thanks....it's from Discovery School's clip art gallery. I just love the way it portrays that complete joy you can get from singing! Sort of like that saying "Sing like no one is listening". I love her sense of utter abandon! Thanks again!

I noticed her too! I was with people who don't know anything about theatre stuff. I finally appealed to them with "you know...the woman from the movie Annie?" (they still didn't know). sad. Also, the woman Charlotte (Jorgenson?) who is on Dancing with the Stars is also a guest judge.
I'm not a lover of children. But I am a lover of partner dancing. Considering those facts, the movie was cute.
