I don't think this was a new episode, but I just saw it on TBS and laughed really hard and none of my other friends got it.
Stewie was doing a stage performance and gets 'boo'd by the crowd and someone shouts "This is worse than Seussical!"
I LOVE how Seth McFarlane is such a musical theatre nerd!! and it's so obvious to other musical theatre fans, but normal people don't hold it against them, because they don't catch the jokes (or the fact that most of his songs are parodying a bway song)

"You, you are the worst thing to happen to musical theatre since Andrew Llyod Webber."
Funniest line, ever!
"We're gonna do a good show. If I wanted to do a bad show, we would have done Cats."
2nd funniest.

I was like "whaaaat?" Cause obviously I love RENT. But its cool, cause I love me some Family Guy. I'm curious to know what Seth's favorite musical is though.

Posted: 12/10/05 at 4:15amwell we know he's a chitty, little shop, sound of music, and the king and i fan...however, i think he uses stewie to voice his own opinions about ALW; Peter for his feelings on RENT, and a misc. man for his feelings about seussical....Anyway, shape or form, this guy so far has my exact tastes in musical theatre. I want to see him do something with Sweeny Todd or The Producers! That would be a riot!

Also mention must be given to the miss saigon joke 'la la la miss saigon' in fact that whole episode is about a musical!
Oh and the 'it jumped right in front of me' "cats" moment is also classic (Espcially if like me you didn't like cats!)

My favorite is when Kirk Cameron goes on as Valjean in the production of Les Miserables that Brian and Stewie go to see. Brian is appalled and Stewie loves it.
"Hey Stewie, what are you doing tonight? OH nothing, just seeing KIRK CAMERON in Les Miserables."
Love it!

AH! I love, love, LOVE Family Guy!!! It's the best sitcom ever known to man.
Stewie may possibly average out the most brilliant lines any character has ever had in a sitcom. I love him.
So, between the Rent comment in "King of the World" AND the ALW comment in that ep., I gather not only is Seth McFarland a theatre nerd, but an elitist as well. Or, it's possible as a theatre nerd he is mocking theatre elitists with those jokes... either way, it's hilarious and I love it.
