He's funny, but I don't think I could deal with him as a host. Billy appeals to more people.

I don't like him either. I thought he was terrible in ASSASSINS and thoroughly annoying in everything else.

I was looking at the Tony photos at getty images and he managed to be annoying in every single frame they shot of him. A "pose" each time. I also felt he was a bit much last night.

However, there a lot of fans of Laugh Whore on this site...is there something about him that I am missing?

I saw a clip of "Laugh Whore" and that was enough of him for me! I dont know how anyone could sit through that whole show hearing/seeing those HORRID impressions

I want to start by saying I have not seen his Broadway show. A good friend of mine used to be a co-host on "The View." I go to the show a lot to see various people. Unfortunately, many of the days I was there, Mario was a guest on the show's "Comedy Corner" segment. Mario is one of those people I can only take in small doses. I think a lot of his material is funny, but his delivery annoys me. Again, I have not seen his show, just bits and pieces of his comedy routine.

I vote "no" on him hosting...

Stay with Hugh - he wasn't on stage enough this year! I understand he took a LONGGG break to rehearse with AF - needed him on stage more.

3 years of Hugh is enough. And I think we've established he does nothing for viewing figures. So let's go in a new direction next year.

Can't stand Mario.

Hugh is an amazing performer, and pleases the audience every year - He should be the permanent host, but, as for him hosting this year - He was only on the stage three times, and it was Billy who opened the show. We saw more of Billy than we did Hugh - so who was the real host?

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

I vote no for Mario. Have him present an award maybe, but I can not take him in any larger doses than that. As others have said his delivery comes off all wrong and instead of funny you get annoying.

I vote for Bruce Vilanch as the hostess with the mostest.
Or Harvey, just as long as Harvey can still host the DD awards.

I think Mario would be a hysterical host, but many people are annoyed by him. I am not one of those people.

If Billy can host X awards for X years, why can't Hugh?
