Hi! I'm looking for Broadway songs that can be performed by 2 ladies and 1 man. We are Mezzo-soprano, Alto and Baritone. We are all strong singers making plans for a benefit cabaret. Thanks in advance for your responses!

I feel like a bad person for not remembering AIDA, but now that my mind's in gear... Not Me, as well.

Posted: 12/23/04 at 9:03amBoth the Maltby and Shire revues, "Starting Here, Starting Now" and "Closer Than Ever" have lots of songs with that combination of voices. Also, there's "The Butterfly" from "Zorba" (Kander and Ebb).

Posted: 12/23/04 at 12:29pm"Two Ladies" from CABARET is 2 men and 1 lady...not 2 ladies

Posted: 12/23/04 at 12:42pmActually I believe the original production of Cabaret used 2 woman and the emcee because as far as I can recall from photos and stuff there was no male in drag.

Posted: 12/23/04 at 12:52pmno I think this time around for the revival they just wanted to change it up a bit and how do you make a show about sex even more risque? Throw a transvestite in the mix, that's how.

Posted: 12/23/04 at 4:11pmThe Sondheim revue "Side by Side by Sondheim" was performed by two women and one man in London (check the OLC). Some songs were arranged for all three voices, others were done as solos.
