I love G&S because no matter how old their works are, they are still so relevant and funny today! I did 'Poor Wand'ring One' for all of my college auditions this year because I'm a total dork. :0) While I'm familiar with 'Pirates' and 'Mikado,' I really have to get moving on their other material!

I don't really like their stuff on its own, but I love their stuff via Jeanine Tesori.

I've been a huge fan of theirs since I was in the Mikado when I was twelve. G&S are some of my all-time FAVORITES!

Love G&S. "Mikado", "Pinafore" (grandmother used to sing "Sorry Her Lot" when I was a toddler. Played Josephine in 8th grade). And "Topsy-Turvy" was a wonderful film.

My all time favorite though is "The Pirate of Penzance." I treasure the DVD of the Central Park production w. Kline, Rose, etc. but I love it mostly for the delicious Ruth of Patricia Routledge.

PS - Has anyone ever heard Anna Russell's musical dissertation "How to Write Your Own Gilbert and Sullivan Opera"? It's priceless.

Jose - I sang with a classical group here for a few years, and for one concert we did all G&S. The director wanted me to have a solo, and gave me I Cannot Tell What This Love May Be. I loved it - had such a great time with it, and so did the audience.
