I searched and nothing came up.
Would you guys recommend picking up the 1995 Carnegie Hall recording of Anyone Can Whistle, with Bernadette Peters and Madeline Kahn?
It is worthwhile having as it is more complete, but the performances are rather iffy. Madeline Kahn was not a good choice for the role and Scott Bakula is downright awful. Bernadette is typical Bernadette, so if you like her, you will like her here. I do think that Bernadette should've played the Mayoress and a younger actress should've played Faye.
When in an Anyone Can Whistle mood, I never put this on - I always play the cast recording. Far superior.
I kind of like it...but I've never seen the show. I have the OCR also, but I honestly put on the concert version more often...
I enjoy it, but if you don't have the OBC get that first.
I thought Madeline Kahn was hilarious, but you are right. Mr. Quantum leap was pretty horrible!!
The Carnegie Hall recording is really not that much more complete. Yes, it has a little bit more of the opening music, a little bit of "I'm Like the Bluebird" and the real version of "I've Got You to Lean On," but it doesn't have the complete Cookie Chase, and that dance music is sublime. The remaster of the original cast recording is the way to go.

Thanks a lot, guys. I have the OBCR and love it. I think I'm going to go for this too, provided that I can find a reasonably priced copy.
The Carnegie Hall recording is also badly mixed...very percussion heavy, like the guy was playing with sledgehammers or something.

I love Madeline Kahn, but I did not enjoy her on this cd. I don't like her voice for most of Cora's songs. And yes, Bernadette might have made a better Cora. Voice wise.

I just got it for $18. Thanks for all of your advice.
I thought the Carnegie Hall CD was out of print?
Anyhow I agree with the majority here. It is a nice supplement to the OBC but not a replacement for it.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

"I thought the Carnegie Hall CD was out of print?"
It is, but there's a store in my town that deals with rare/out of print CDs. I've gotten a lot of great, hard to find cast recordings through there.
well, I just got it on EBAY, for a very reasonable price......and UGH, I MUCH prefer the OBCR and Ravinia in August.
Scott is not good, Madeline, who I adore....while funny, just doesn't cut it......ugh.....it's almost too planned/staged, something....UGH
