I say this, of course, because Glee and Broadway shows are obviously extremely gay-friendly enterprises, and it struck me as odd (not wrong, mind you) that they would jump to appear on a telecast hosted by a man who used the word "faggot" on it three years ago. Muscular Dystrophy is obviously an important cause and they should absolutely be doing anything they can to help it, but it seems that they've forgotten about Lewis' unfortunate "slip-up" on the air.
The video, for anyone who forgot.

It's about Jerry's KIDS, not Jerry.

Jerry's hosting it and puts his name on it. The telethon is indelibly associated with him. Hm. I wonder if Elton John would perform on the annual Isiah Washington Telethon?

Seems to me like there are plenty of other things to get bent out of shape about - more important things.

"I wonder if Elton John would perform on the annual Isiah Washington Telethon?"

Probably - as long as he was finished playing Rush's wedding.

Supreme talent trumps hate. Jerry Lewis is a sad individual trapped in a bygone age. The telethon is, in many ways, also an anachronism, but it does raise money that goes to curing a disease that I would not wish on Glen Beck (one of the few diseases I wouldn't wish on Beck. Enjoying toe pox, Glen?). This horrific crippler of children must be eradicated and I would service Satan himself if it would lead to a cure. Any gay man or woman who goes on that show, pushed Jerry aside and helps raise money with all the other selfless people who work on the show deserves our respect.

If Elton John can perform at Rush Limbaugh's wedding then Broadway can perform for Jerry Lewis' telethon.
