I have the oppurtunity to do a workshop with Jason Robert Brown before his concert. It's not until November 4th, but I was just wondering if anyone out there has done one and what was it like? Did he give good feedback?

He did a master class at my school last year.

I thought his work with the students was fantastic. He was very good at getting them to properly act the songs they sang, pinpointing spots in particular where the acting seemed forced and having them sing from their character's point of view. The changes in the students performances were immediately apparent and leagues better from what their initial work prior to his feedback.

Take the oppurtunity and go.

I def. want to go, just debating on what to sing. What are some of the songs other people sang?

How do you get to do that?

He came to our production of SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD - said he liked some of the original concepts we used in our production, and how the core concept of the show "exposing" it's actors was really evident (he really liked me in "King of the World"!).

And if she'll say, "My darling, I'm yours!" I'll throw away my striped tie and my best pressed tweed, all I really need is the girl...

Well, he's doing a concert here in November as part of a cabaret theater's season (Billy Porter is also coming!) and that saturday of his performance he's doing a workshop with area people, giving tips on auditions and whatnot. I'm not sure what song to sing. Here are the ones I have prepared:

"Flight" Craig Carneila
"What Do I Need With Love?" (Millie)
"Sunset Boulevard" (Sunset Blvd)
"Sometimes a Day Goes By" (Kander and Ebb)
"What Is It About Her?" (Wild Party)

wait- is it a workshop of a new show you are working on, or simply a master class?

Where is the workshop/class? As in, what city?
