Has he returned from vacation and if so, how is he sounding? I love the understudies, as well, but am taking some people this weekend who would like to see John. Thanks!

He is back. Rumor has it he is no longer doing Wed or Sat mats, however...not sure if that is true, but I heard that.
John was back last night.
I don't believe he's doing matinees anymore.

I heard he will be doing Sunday matinees. It's the traditional 6 show week, like for roles like Evita, Christine, Kim, J/H etc.
Any word on how long he has extended for?
I am glad to hear JLY is now on a six show a week schedule.
I happened to see him at a Wednesday matinee this summer, and although he was utterly fantastic, it seems he has had quite a few health problems that have sidelined him for significant amounts of time. Hopefully this will improve his attendance record.
If he is indeed on this schedule, however, the theater should have announced it. People buying tickets to matinees deserve to know they won't be seeing the Tony award winner.
Yes he is back since last night.
Any word on how long he has extended for?
Not sure Jenn, maybe six months? I'm sure he'll post that on his blog sooner or later.
Thanks Lori, I knew it was several months but I wasn't sure if we would stay past the new year.

Did anyone go to today's matinee for varification if John's not doing anymore matinees?
"I heard he will be doing Sunday matinees."
Jersey Boys only has a 3pm show on Sundays.
Did anyone read John's blog? In it he mentions that Christian and Melissa had their baby.

I believe they extended for a year

I believe the other three did renew for one year, but in John's blog he has stated that he has renewed for several more months.

Christian announced the birth about a week ago on his blog. Congrats to the entire Hoff family.

How long after the play ends does it take for the actors to greet fans at the stage door? I'm seeing the play on the 27th...

The guy who plays Nick Massi, Bobby Spencer he is the first one to come out, they are pretty fast...I would say probably about 5-10 minutes after the show is over.
Lori, I think I would say more like 10-20. John takes longer - he cools down his voice for 20 minutes after the performance.
TampaNative, hope to see you there! I'll be there for my birthday on the 27th. :)
And JLY will be performing a six show week. I don't refer to the Sunday shows as matinees.
Like Victoria Clark did.
