Anyone else pissed off that Fox sports didnt show hunter and brad singing the national anthem?

I watched almost the entire pregame to see it, and then they cut to a commercial as hunter and brad started. I am royally pissed with Fox Sports right now.

I didn't know about this, but I was pissed when they didn't show Sutton singing it at one time. This would have been something I would want to see also!

To be fair, they never show the national anthem except during the all-star game and the world series, when huge stars are brought in to sing it.

I was looking forward to it as well, and I spent the last fifteen minutes searching for the damn station, till a friend on the phone told me that they never aired the boys at all. Far more important to get more commercials in, y'know.

Playbill may have said it, but the TV stations typically cut to commercials during all of the player intros and the national anthem unless it's a playoff game

That's just the way baseball works. Sorry, kids!

I find it funny that practically the first sports thread on this board ever has to do with B'way stars singing the national anthem.

I'd be more than happy to start a sports thread, but I have a strong feeling it would get no responses and slip down the page and off the board entirely, faster than one of my reviews of non-musical off-Broadway plays. I think my post about performance artist Tim Miller may have set a record for most ignored thread in the history of the board, despite my including a link that had a naked picture of him in it.

Well, the Red Sox have been waiting since, what? 1918? Being a Red Sox fan means having to deal with disappointment (I was in a bar in Boston when the Buckner through-the-legs play happened). Oh well, hope springs eternal....

I've been going against the grain my whole life.

It's fun.

It's all about how you carry yourself. if you're confident, people won't give you ****. I go to an all-boys school, where sports is the essence of the school. Do i play a school sport? No. I take athletic tutorial for dance. Everyone knows this. Do they harass me? No. They respect the fact that I do it, BECAUSE they know I don't care if they approve or not.

If you go agianst the grain, sadly, you have to earn others respect. Confidence is the only way to do that.

Dalls! How many Red Sox fans are in Manhattan?!?! I'm a New Yorker by way of New Hampshire, so I'm kind of living in enemy territory now! Oh well, I'll still sport my Sox hat proudly, even if come October, I'm reciting the old standby "there's always next year!"

I, too, know a thing or two about "going against the grain." I was the same way at 16 (though I did start at guard on the basketball team at one point -- folks were absolutely incredulous when I quit the team junior year so I could do the school musical).

And you're right about confidence. Don't EVER let anything anyone says or does get you down. Good luck.
