Baine are you trying to say that there are men who are above average in weight who do not suffer ill affects as a cause but find that they lead healthy lives?
Morosco, I too am a person of size (hmmm, that's not a bad way to put it), but I was not offended at all! Actually loved the character! I probably would have rolled my eyes too! LOL! Political correctness strikes again!
LOL! Fosco Flu! I like that!
Rebekah: I'm from the UK, so i think of him as a "name"... but he's not one that I particularly like... I still haven't forgiven him for the dance routine in Me Ole Bamboo in Chitty.
Michael will be back tomorrow night

And how do you know that?? I do hope it is true. I hope he is well enough. Thanks for the info
heard it from "colleague" of his- I'm sorry if this isn't true and he's taking more time, but as of late this afternoon I was told he'd be back tomorrow night.

Oh Algy!!!!!!!! Did you mean it to be funny cause I'm laughing!!!! Sorry if not!!!!!
Mmm, you know...I think I like how amcchemist puts it. A person of size.
And, to answer Rebekah....I don't think that's what I said, but I guess in a skewed sort of way it could be? I more meant...hm...how to say...it's just, this country's version of 'fat' can often be an average-sized human being or....oooh. Like, the person may be a bit larger than average, but they have normal blood pressure and cholesterol and are healthy that way, right? Or, maybe they eat healthy and exercise and all that good stuff but never lose any weight because that is their natural body shape and they can't easily alter it. Does that make a little sense? I didn't mean it quite like you said, but I'm not sure I'm saying what I'm thinking even now.

You're doing great Baine!!!!!
"Oh Algy!!!!!!!! Did you mean it to be funny cause I'm laughing!!!! Sorry if not!!!!!"
Yeah i meant it to be funny but I hated that dance routine.... there was a bit in one of the making of docos showing him learning it and he just looked dreadful... and when i saw him in the show i wanted to cry.... its my favourite sequence in the movie, where dvd is about 4 beats behind everyone else it looks so cool and in the show.... meh. The highlight of that show for me was Richard O'Brien. I don't know who you guys got as the Child catcher, but i hope he was as good as Richard.

He was good but not as good as Richard O'Brian.
They should offer the Fosco part to Calvin Remsberg ... he was Firmin in the LA Phantom production and The Beattle in the Sweeney Todd (Landsbury) video.

I hope you meant AFTER Michael is done Adam Chris??? Michael does a great job in this role!!

Yes he does. I really think it is a "breakthrough" role. Meaning that it should open up more options than just the "handsome, leading man" roles. Give him a chance to exercise obvious comedic skills. Or even playing more villainous types.
Haha... sorry...im not saying to replace MB today...im just saying Calvin is a big boy who wouldnt need the fat suit for fosco.

I saw the show yesterday with Daniel Marcus - who was great!
Michael was a pleasure to watch and I do hope he gets better shortly.
YayJudyYayJudy, Michael is not back until NEXT thursday. He's still in the UK right now.
oh ****, ok, this thursday, next thursday... easily interchangable.... my bad!
Not your bad at all. He was aiming for tonight, but his throat infection is being all too persistent so he's staying in the UK an extra week and will, if it all goes to plan, be back performing on the 19th.
At least the understudies can put on their CVs that they got to go on...

Glad to know you enjoyed Daniel Marcus. It was his FIRST time up at Fosco and I thought he did wonderfully. Then again, I know him, so I had no doubt.
Bless my boss, who let me take a half day to see Daniel. I hope he gets to go on more. LOVE his voice.

Popcultureboy...I'm not exactly questioning what you are saying because you sound like a reasonable person with a good source, but I was at the show Tuesday night and several of the cast members said upon leaving that Michael could be in as early as Thursday. You say he was targeting Thursday for a return, but is still in the UK. If the cast heard Tuesday evening that he might be back Thursday (and they did, because no one had heard that going in Thursday in the afternoon) I doubt that he was still in the UK. That would mean traveling on Weds. with the idea of being back on stage on Thursday...accounting for jetlag and the virus he's been fighting that seems highly unlikely.
At any rate, I'm glad to hear that Daniel Marcus did well. I enjoyed Norman Larges' performance...he did really well with the comedic parts although I thought he lacked the underlying "menace" that Michael brings to the role. But overall, he did a really good job filling in under tough cirumstances (as have all of the understudies in this show). It's a great cast...please everyone, give this show a chance!
