You all shouldn't be so quick to judge MeMeMeee.

I mean come on, you don't have to be so brutal. She was just asking a question.
And for your information, I was a child in the business and loved it. I turned out fine, it didn't screw me up, and I learned a lot from my experiences performing. If the kid has parents who know about boundaries and keeping you grounded, the kid will be fine.

and jeeze, she is just talking about some possible print work.

"...my own agent and how to handle myself as an adult in the Industry but know NOTHING about child agents." Oh, please. If you actually have an agent you mean to say the agent has no knowledge of whom you could call? No contacts?

"...an adult agent saw him and suggested he should do print work." Another said agent unable to point you in a direction?

You know what I find nasty? Phonies.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

"no one was looking to make a buck off of him... "

Oh, come on, then what's the point?

I was simply asking a question ..sorry I pissed so many people off..Christ, what is wrong with you guys?

What is the point of a board if I can't ask a question?

I'm surprised your agent had no one to recommend. Generations or GenTV, J. Mitchell Management, FBI, CED, Abrams, JGD, say, how about you just pick up a Ross Report and look. my Question is who will give up their life to take this child on calls and bookings? it is a full time job. Agents don't like it when you say you can't take the child to the audition. Question #2. Does the child WANT this? Sometimes it's best to just let them be the family cut-up. Don't push them just because you think they are cute. Let him do his own thing, and if he really wants to do the biz, then ask your agent to recommend someone. If you really want to do this, your nephew really ought to have a Manager so he can get into the agencies. Hope that helps. Good Luck.

no one is pushing anyone into anything..it's just for some print work for God's sakes...good lord...

As I said before, my agent works with adults and had nothing to share about children because she really doesn't like them to be in the industry in the first place.

I don't know any children in the business, personally, so I thought what better place to ask than a theatre board?

But I should have remembered that some of you (Some of you... not all of you) are very nasty and are only interested in being mean to posters and I wasted my time.

OF course, I can pick up a book and find some agencies on my own but I was asking if anyone PERSONALLY knew of an agent that they liked and trusted..

That was the point...

I was just trying to gather some information...that's all.

MeMeMeee, I am so sorry most of the people on the board are so nasty.

I mean come on guys, she was just asking a question!!! If you didn't like the question, you could have said it nicely (or just NOT said it all). You all don't have to tear her apart. How do you guys know that she is just doing it for a buck?? Don't be so quick to judge.

It wouldn't be BWW without a newbie admonishing the behavior of others. Not quite so dapper, eh, chapper?

well thanks for the warm welcome, haha.

I'm sorry, but the way everyone treated MeMeMee was awful and I had to say something. She was just seeking advice. If you didn't like what she was doing, you could have said it nicely without bashing her and making false accusations!

Sometimes I love that everyone here can be jerks, but in this case it bugged me because I know all about "child actors" and if the kid has responsible parents, he will be fine. Of course, I do agree the kid should want to do it, and shouldn't be forced into it. But, we don't know all the details regarding her situation and shouldn't make assumptions.
