''Yank!'' was a beautiful love story & salute to gay soldiers during World War II (by David and Joseph Zellnik) that played the York Theatre several years ago. Bobby Steggert and Ivan Hernandez starred in a terrific cast that included Jeffry Denman and Nancy Anderson. It racked up many award nominations and rave reviews, and it was announced that David Cromer would revise the show for Broadway. But somehow it all fell apart. What happened?
Anyway, it's nice to hear that ''Yank!'' made its British debut in Manchester earlier this year, and that acclaimed production will be moving to Charing Cross Theatre in London this summer.
