Anyone remember this line from Carousel?

In Carousel there's a scene where Julie Jordan is talking to Carrie and she says something to the effect of Billy is the kind of guy who would like to look at a flower but wouldn't water it. Can anyone better recollect how the line goes? Thanks in advance!

I think this site gets it about right: " “I couldn’t rightly say if Billy likes to take keer of flowers. He likes t' smell ‘em, though."
