I saw it on Friday and thought it was a weird little piece, but Geoffrey Rush is really giving an all-out wonderful performance. It's a two person play, but one of the characters doesn't speak "Russian," so her lines consist of learning the parts of the body and the names of different objects in the room. Basically it becomes a one man show, with Rush delivering monologues about what happened to him that day whilst noting the events in his diary.

The stories in the first act are funnier than in the second, and as the evening goes on the tales become stranger and stranger. The first act and beginning of the second deal with the hilarious adventures of two dogs exchanging love letters Rush wants to intercept!

The direction really helps hold the crazy anecdotes together. The piece is underscored by two musicians who create sound effects are Rush mimes his adventures.

If you like Rush in Exit the King you will be sure to love him in this too. It kind of reminded me of that character. Rush isn't afraid of taking chances or putting himself out there. He's willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco. Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!
